This tapestry honors the Padre Island National Seashore and their efforts in saving the Kemp’s Ridley Sea Turtle.🐢
We visited this amazing & most beautiful beach in Texas a few weeks ago and it was definitely one of our favorite places we’ve been to so far on our honeymoon adventure. A local even referred to Padre Island as the hidden gem of Texas, and we couldn’t agree more! Moon especially loved this beach, calling it his favorite national park visited to date!😍
We read information how this beach specifically needs help with beach clean up because of its location in the gulf, it is a magnet for garbage to collect. It really is true it takes a village. This beach and all our beaches are for everyone and we are all responsible and able to help somehow. They even provide trash bags for beach collection at the visitor center. Moon and I walked the beach for about an hour and collected as much as we could fit in the bag. It felt like it was close to 40 lbs, at least! Sadly, we also found the carcass of a deceased sea turtle💔 Not sure what sealed its fate, but it was a reminder of why we were out there helping in the small way we could.🫶🏽
