This is a massive lake we stayed next to for a few days on our van life honeymoon . The lake used to be filled with life but unfortunately since the early 1900’s the lakes tributaries have been repurposed for the aquifer to Los Angeles
The loss of all the fresh water led to a spike in the salinity of the lake eventually killing everything that lived in it.
Its still a beautiful place to visit. We watched sunrises and sunsets from this beautiful place and im also happy to say that there is an effort to purchase the water rights back so this amazing body of water can thrive again.
